From Ron Thompson

Dear Mayor and Members of the City Council,
It has been an honor and privilege to serve our community as a member and founding chair of the Duncanville Arts Commission over these past three years. Together, we have laid a strong foundation for the arts to become an institutional pillar in Duncanville, providing future commissions with a clear structure, sustainable funding, impactful policies, and purposeful direction.
As my term on the Arts Commission nears its conclusion, I am enthusiastic about continuing our shared commitment to the arts by focusing on securing state designation for Armstrong Park as a Cultural District. The newly established Armstrong Park Cultural District Foundation will serve as an effective partner for the City, actively raising funds, galvanizing community stakeholders, and easing operational demands on City staff.
Duncanville is my hometown, and I deeply value its rich community spirit and cultural vitality. The arts are essential in enriching our lives and fostering a thriving community. I look forward to collaborating closely with you in this exciting next chapter.
Thank you again for this extraordinary opportunity to serve. It is a true privilege.
Warm regards,
